it always amuses me

wendykhwhen people post in [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] asking for a doctor or dentist who speaks English.
I have lived here nearly 13 years now and never run into a doctor or dentist who did not. Nurse, dental technicians, yes. Doctor/dentist, as in 12 years of post secondary education, most of which comes from books written in English even if they went to a French university? No. Never. And I don't mean they can string together some intelligible words, I mean every medical professional I have met educated to that extent knows English quite well.
Weird.
