I personally like "as of yet," think "as yet" sounds... weird, and plain "yet" even worse.

http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/asofyet.html says that “As of yet” is a windy and pretentious substitute for plain old English “yet” or “as yet,” an unjustified extension of the pattern in sentences like “as of Friday the 27th of May.”

I am not seeing where that means it's wrong.

And yes, btw, I don't give a tinker's damn what some intellectual says about ending sentences in prepostions (particularly "of"), I think it sounds nicer to reword even if it's technically not incorrect to leave a sentence in disrepair, state of.

If someone can point me to an appropriate "MAUVAIS REPONSE!" citing, I shall be happy to eat my hat.

Holy Crisp!

So um I just made this peach crisp thing I talked about the other day.

It's currently bubbling in my oven. I know it's late for cooking but I had a ton of peaches in my kitchen about to go bad. I also had some blueberries I needed to get rid of so I used my huge, deep 13x9 and basically filled it.

I used maple sugar instead of brown sugar. And let me tell you I could have eaten the whole bowl of topping raw by myself. OMG! I cannot wait to eat this stuff! I will update when I do.

I decided making the cream sauce was too much effort for me alone, so I am cheating and melting some vanilla ice cream and blending it with maple syrup in the blender.

Anyway, I STRONGLY recommend trying this, it's amazing to smell, look at, taste while cooking and ooooh there's no way it could possibly taste bad after, but I will definitely update in about 45 minutes while I eat some!

Update: my husband ended up coming home and taking me out for a bit since I'd been inside cooking all day so I did not get to try it until this morning!

Well, as I told Pat "omg I hope you don't like this. because it's allll going in my tummy!"
