According to stats, Canada has the highest per capita internet usage in the world.
So why the sam hell do so few chain stores (old navy, gap, I am looking directly at you) sell in Canada online?
It was 1998 before we could buy books online. How ridiculous is that?

WTF is with retailers and the online Canadian market?

They just don't what to do if they're paid in loonies and toonies and shmoonies and all your other weird Canuckistanian monies.

I kid.

Really? It's ridiculous. The internet is global. I can see wanting to avoid the obvious hassles of customs and tariffs if you're a small brick and mortar retailer who has internet sales on the side, but if you're a major international retailer (hello, GAP, you have stores in other countries too) then it's inexcusable. (Old Navy is a GAP subsidiary, so it's a GAP corporate decision that they're both excluding you. A pox on GAP!)

While it boggles my mind as well, a wee part of it is the expense of getting the big fat internet pipe here in Canada and related things. Seriously, just for LOLs check out the difference between Canadian web hosts and American ones. it's insane and there's no reason for it other than the big phone company monopolies.

For any joe Shmoe to set up his own server in his *house* is not unreasonable down there, but here in Canada, for a Canadian company to keep all the equipment and tech stuff here, it's some serious colours of bills.
