do you need a referral from a clinic or family doctor (good fucking luck finding one of those) to see a gyn?

I know for a fact it was not this way 7 years ago when I got this stupid IUD put in.

I am not, I absolutely flat out effing refuse, to sit in a clinic for four hours so I can say "hi I just need to get an IUD removed can you please send me to a gyn? thanks."

ETA: You know it's bad when you call your ex the doctor and ask him to help and he says "Family doctor? I don't have a family doctor!"

I am wondering the same thing. I would like to see a gyn just for a basic internal (oooh, yay) and to find out stuff about the Nuvaring, etc...

Thought about iud, but it scares me.

Did you try calling any gyn's in the phone book?

I may do so. If I hear of anything, I will let you know.

I don't know much about Canadian health care, but perhaps give your primary care doc a call and ask for a referral over the phone?

You also know it's bad when you work in the fucking Faculty of Medicine, and in your unit, two out of nine employees have family doctors.

Try the walk in clinic at Westmount Medical Centre. I went yesterday and the wait wasn't that long and I got my gyn referral.
