Not this crap again...

Ya know, I'm one of the biggest self-hating anglos I know.
I busted my ass to learn French when I came here.
My kids go to French school, by my choice, and I had to fight with their Francophone dad to get them there.
I have absolutely no problem with Bill 101.
In some of my more strident moments, I have wondered whether having English public schools at all is really a big deal and if we would not be better served by having French schools only that taught proper English as a second language.
But this is the biggest crock of horsesh*t I've ever heard out of the OLF.
Look, I don't understand, honestly, why Montreal seems to have more Irish bars than Boston. I truly don't get it. I know we have a lot of Irish immigrant history but f*ck so does Nebraska and I think there might have been one, perhaps two, Irish bars there? And here you can't light a cigarette without running into one. I personally paid the first month's rent for the Irish Embassy through prolific sampling of their wares. But they are here, in great numbers, for whatever reason.
For those who don't know, McKibbin's is literally in Concordia's backyard. Concordia, as in, anglo university with massive international student population, most of whom do not speak French. (See cape, short and yellow :-P). And most of the native anglos can't speak shit for French either there. So yeah you're not gonna hear much French spoken there by the clientele. In fact, I can think of exactly four francophones I've ever seen there, and all four were there with anglo friends, and quickly moved us off to St. Sulpice or St. Elisabeth's or somewhere else respectable ASAP. Finally, it's a frickin' Irish pub. Irish people speak English. Sort of. So wtf? Why aren't they off harassing immigrants who try to send their kids to English schools instead?* I mean 'scuse me for blasphemy but I don't think this is what Rene Levesque had in mind, and if this is what the OLF is reduced to, harassing a fricking Irish theme pub, they need to be eliminated.
*Cliff's notes on this: it's easier to immigrate to QC than Canada in general. People come here, then bitch they can't put their kids in English school, as in QC you can only go to English school if your parent graduated from English school in Canada or if you can prove it's some massive hardship, and there are some other loopholes, but it's pretty damn fierce for the immigrants. So people come here to get in easy, the eventual goal of course to be in Toronto or Vancouver, so they want the kids in English schools.
