why did it not occur to me when I was told they'd be redoing the roof today that there would be tons of dust and other nasty crap, requiring me to keep windows in my sans a/c apartment closed?

Yuck. Dust is everywhere.
Also, starting at 6 freakin' 30 am sucks.

I'll top that with: Why did it not occur to me that there would be crazy noise waking me up at 7am when I went to bed at 5am and that I should have closed the windows to increase the chances of sleeping?

Not to mention the smell of tar. And the people walking on the roof (now I know how downstairs people feel when I'm walking around in the middle of the night on my squeaky floors)

The whole area is hazy from forest fires. Everyone seems to be having sneezing fits and allergy attacks. Of course, it's probably better than those who are worried about their homes burning down. The wingnuts say it's because God is angry with CA for letting fags get married. Conversely, the floods in the Midwest were just floods, nothing else. I wonder how they know what's wrath and what isn't.
