.....The church was likely to abandon plans to picket a play denouncing violence against homosexuals in Red Deer, Alta., Friday night after a local RCMP officer told Phelps-Roper that they would be "arrested on site."

She feared picketers could face a similar challenge in Winnipeg, but said the funeral was by far "the most important event" scheduled in Canada.

Winnipeg NDP MP Pat Martin said he asked the Winnipeg Police Service to detain the picketers for the duration of the funeral for their own personal safety. "They can file a complaint to the U.S. consulate. From what I understand they don't care much for them either," he said.

I have a hunch there never was a second group coming. I can't find any updates as to what actually happened. I hope they never showed. Even with the citizens of Winnipeg stepping up and protecting the family, this shit was not needed.

Well, that explains it. They're one big happy inbred family!

And I'm happy that even right-wing nutters like Stockwell Day won't allow this group to picket at funerals in Canada.
