is a "two-tier" commuter bus route?
Sep. 1st, 2008 10:34 amSome bus routes from Vaudreuil to the city were supposed to start tomorrow, some from the south shore in two weeks.
Apparently, that's been shit canned, supposedly because it's not "accessible" to all people. By that, they mean expensive.
The suggested fares for the Vaudreuil to Côte Vertu line are $4.75 per trip or $95.50 a month, while the Longueuil to Nuns' Island route was suggested at $5.25 per trip or $74 per month.
I'm having a hard time understanding how this is sooooooo inaccessible when the monthly pass for (virtually non-existent) service from there now is quite a bit more pricey than that.
Poor people from Vaudreuil aren't coming to Montreal daily. These are, let's face it, for the people who bought big ol comfy houses at reasonable prices out there and commute into the city to desk jockey jobs.
The people raining on this are just jealous, IMHO.
