In this picture, http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2048667260054188876RkDVES you can see the top of his house on the right in the background.
All these photos are taken within a 5 minute walk of his house. Several are directly across the street. I'd show you on google satellite, but the pics from there must have been taken about 10 years ago because there's about nothing on the google pictures that is there now.
He says this year the tourism is particularly obnoxious. Yesterday he was sitting down to have a cup of coffee in his boxers in the kitchen, and someone was walking through his backyard picking apples. Now, he gets why... the house is a red and white school house looking classic. I mean it LOOKS like something an apple orchard would build, AND it's directly across from one of the biggest ones there, but still... sheesh! So he and Nancy are now working on making it look more "this is a PRIVATE residence"-ish.
The good news is: I haven't paid for an apple in about three years! :-D I'm always confused when people ask me to pay to go pick, myself, apples. Like what? When I have a kid who shows up every weekend in fall with massive bags of them instructing me "Daddy and Nancy want you to do something with this! But something nutritious because last time, that applesauce stuff was good but it makes us fat."
So this fall I am working on cooking with apples, as in like, meals. Stews and such.
