I usually vote for fun. Just to annoy my dad mainly. I figure someone ought to cancel his vote.

My votes get counted in Nebraska. They practically have democrats in museums there.

I don't think it would shock anyone here to know that if I vote I'm voting for Obama. McCain pretty much sealed it (not that I was leaning too hard in his direction anyway to be honest) by choosing the VP that he did. Don't talk to me about sexism, NO man would EVER be chosen with that little experience. I just cannot even get over how unimpressed I am with that choice.

Anyway my point is I am unsure what is the point in bothering to vote in a state such as Nebraska, which just simply does not vote Democrat. Ever. When this year I am very busy, very pregnant, and I work a lot.

Also, my votes count in district 2, not district 1, so The Nebraska Factor simply is not a factor for my vote.

Please note intellectual "it's the principal of it" factors are just, well, not really impressive to me considering the effort it takes me to go vote in this election. Help me mull.

Just FYI, the husband is spinning his head around backwards and frothing I am even contemplating this since he's still pissed his mom never claimed her citizenship (hence giving it to him) meaning he can't vote.

If it's a lot of work to vote (and I kind of hope it is to reduce voter fraud, you know) then I wouldn't bother if it counts in NE.

Same with if I lived in KS.

Yeah, that's kind of why I'm probably not going to vote. I could vote absentee in Texas, but what's the point? I just moved to Pennsylvania, but today's the deadline for voter registration and I need to get a PA driver's license to register, and we're really tight on money this pay period so we can't really afford to waste gas to drive to the nearest DMV and pay however much it's going to cost to get the license. I'm pretty bummed about it.

Yeah, I came here for a boy. So far I'm super happy with it. The weather has been awesome, highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. It's still in the high 80s in Texas! And I'm super happy about the direction my life has taken, as far as the important stuff goes. :)

I think you got that backwards. District 2 is the one Obama's going after. District 1 has Lincoln.

whatever. it's confusing because Omaha (Douglas County) license plates all start with 1, and Lincoln with 2, and in everything BUT this Omaha is 1.
