I have much love for Colin Powell, part of my liberal/conservative schizophrenia.

This was kind of expected, though they weren't sure. Powell had a pretty big falling out with the Bush administration, and he's always been very moderate. The McCain crazy negativity put him over the top, plus we're talking about the first black president here.
