And while I'm feeling all conservative
Sep. 12th, 2008 04:08 pmI am sick and tired of hearing how criticism of Sarah Palin regarding having enough time to be VP with such a large and high maintenance family is sexist.
My concern... and many other people's... It's got nothing to do with being a woman. I'm concerned about the children. Yes of course women, and men, can have it all. Maybe just not all at once. Not everything is about feminism. Some people just think children, particularly newborn special needs children, deserve more attention than someone being VP can possibly provide.
And people keep saying "omg no one would say a thing if this was a man running." Bullshit. I would.
"No one says Stephen Harper shouldn't be PM and he has kids."
Stephen Harper has two (2) neurotypical grade school age children. I am sure they'll live. Sarah Palin has five (5) ranging from newborn with special needs they cannot even begin to fully know about yet to a pregnant teenager. The comparison is ludicrous.
